NTC 2023 Annual Report: Anchored in Equity

2023 Annual Report

What if?

This question has been a refrain at the New Teacher Center for 25 years and counting. It’s how we got started, answering what-if questions about how to support and sustain new teachers. And it’s what drives our professional learning approach — translating the research of learning and development to unlock powerful instruction, bringing equity to every corner of schools to nurture students’ well-being, prosperity, and genius.

This past year, we worked in 29 states with approximately 1,026 districts and over 9,441 schools in co-designed efforts to help them move from where they are to where they aspire to be. Our partnerships served 4.75M students and 285,000 teachers. While these statistics are meaningful, they don’t capture the thousands of hours of professional coaching conversations that enabled strong instructional practices in schools and classrooms, facilitated transformative student-teacher relationships, and supported teacher wellness, growth, and retention.

Throughout this report, you’ll find highlights of our work and continued what-ifs — internal and external — and reflections on what we’ve learned. At each step, we hold onto our core belief that teaching and learning is human work. We hope you enjoy learning more about what we do and the people behind it all.

Thank you for being on this journey with us.
