At NTC, we believe in the power of PLCs to provide high-quality, collaborative, ongoing professional learning for educators. We know, however, that the effectiveness of PLCs is not a given.

The Criteria for Effective Professional Learning Communities articulates what high-functioning PLCs look like in four key areas: Structure, Culture, Focus, and Facilitation.

In alignment with these criteria, a companion resource, the Effective Professional Learning Communities continuum provides detailed look-fors for assessing PLC function to guide ongoing PLC growth from emerging to transformative.
