What We Offer Pushing Into Practice Two male teachers talk through instructional practice in a coaching session The Challenge

Despite increased awareness and attention to systemically underserved students, the needle has barely moved. And teachers are struggling, feeling less supported in a more complex post-pandemic system. We can only unlock student and teacher potential by developing talent. Our belief that “everyone is a coach” creates a unified vision and activates proven practices rooted in the science of learning and development.

Schools that implement instructional coaching see significant gains compared to schools without support.

Instructional coaches have not received formal training in coaching strategies or adult learning principles1

Instructional coaches do not have enough time to work effectively with teachers due to competing, non-coaching duties2

Personalized, job-embedded instructional coaching is a time-tested way to improve teacher performance, student learning experiences, and teacher retention.

Accelerates

Student Learning

Instructional coaching provides teachers with the tools, strategies, and ongoing feedback necessary to improve their practice. Embedded coaching enables teachers to implement more effective instructional practices tailored to their students’ needs.

Supports

Evidence-based practices

Coaches can support teachers in adopting and implementing evidence-based instructional strategies. By breaking down complex pedagogical methods into manageable steps, coaches make it easier for teachers to integrate new practices into their classrooms.

Reduces

Inequities

Coaches work with teachers to analyze data and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Combined with targeted feedback, modeling, and collaborative problem-solving, coaching enables teachers to address root problems and design multiple learning pathways.

Builds

Collaboration

Instructional coaching fosters school collaboration between teachers, principals, coaches, and other stakeholders. When teachers receive coaching, they are more likely to engage in peer observations, share best practices, and collaborate on problem-solving.

Enhances

Reflection

Coaching encourages teachers to engage in reflective practice, helping them analyze their instructional approaches and adjust them based on student needs and outcomes. This reflective process fosters continuous improvement in teaching.

Model for Measurable Success

Professional learning, ongoing coaching, and communities of practice

NTC builds coaching capacity through professional learning, communities of practice, and in-field coaching, integrating evidence-based strategies, grade-level alignment, and culturally responsive teaching for impactful instruction.

Implementation consultation

NTC builds systems leader capacity in addressing inequities and aligning teacher and student support strategies. Our ongoing consultation includes strategy advising, data analysis, and coaching to adjust and refine the implementation of critical instructional initiatives.

Progress monitoring

NTC uses program evaluation tools and Guskey’s 5+1 Framework to monitor coaching impact. We track progress, refine professional learning, and ensure data are relevant, actionable, and aligned with district goals.

Coaching for early learning educators

Early learning educators need tailored coaching to meet the unique developmental needs of their students. NTC partners with districts to implement culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate practices, creating classrooms that are emotionally, intellectually, and physically safe for early learners.

As we enter an era of new challenges and greater accountability, our teachers need more support than ever before. Our partnership with the New Teacher Center is one of these foundational supports. The programs, developed through this partnership, are critical for fostering improvement, wherever needed, to ensure high-quality teacher performance and instruction, and ultimately improve learning outcomes for our students.
