New Teacher Center designs customized consultation and professional learning to support state and local education agencies in building assessment literacy and designing and implementing comprehensive assessment strategy.

Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) partnered with New Teacher Center to pilot strategies to build school district capacity to support the implementation of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) and promote coherence and alignment between curriculum and formative and interim assessments linked to the state’s use of the Smarter Balanced end-of-year test.

With a deep base of expertise in instructionally relevant assessment, including a national partnership to support use of Smarter Balanced assessment resources at 10 demonstration sites across the country, NTC is well-positioned to meet the state’s goals. Together, we are building leadership at the school and district level to integrate and sustain the effective use of Smarter Balanced interim assessments, supplementary resources, and data protocols to improve instruction.
