A Superintendent Roundtable on COVID-19 from Education's Frontlines
During this roundtable discussion, we discussed how district leaders across the country are addressing COVID-19. Here were some of the key themes that surfaced during the webinar:
- Systemically underserved students were in crisis pre-pandemic, COVID-19 puts them at even higher risk; normal or business-as-usual wasn’t working for many and must be redesigned
- Social-emotional learning took on new heights of importance in how it becomes part of an integrated, high-quality instructional culture
- Professional learning can and should use new modalities for engagement, emphasizing connection and care for educators to create personalized and localized support
