Transcript

Sarah Watkins, Supervisor of Instruction, Corbin (KY) Middle School & High School

So when I came in, I was new to a district level position. I was new to the curriculum just because there had never been a curriculum position in my district before. I was new to even knowing what that would look like or what the expectations kind of were for my position. And so early on I can remember back during the blur of the, of those first days. I can remember hearing about NTC and that I was going to be part of that project. It has been so necessary in, in my position. I can’t imagine what it, what a curriculum position would look like without having the foundation that I’ve gotten from NTC, because it showed me how to really coach teachers, how to really support teachers. And I’m so thankful that I got on board with NTC at the beginning of the new job, it was overwhelming because I didn’t know what I was doing at the beginning, but now, now they knew what they were doing. So now the pieces are all too together and it just gave me that foundation that I want to use. But what I’ve learned through NTC, I’m going to use for the rest of my career. It has been so essential to being better at my practice.
