Scope of Work

The NTC has helped many regional and local agencies to develop policies, practices, and negotiated agreements regarding teacher and principal induction, professional development, and evaluation.

Alaska

Alaska Program Standards
The NTC works closely with the Alaska Department of Education to develop and support the implementation of the statewide teacher and principal induction program and provide input into statewide teacher and principal standards.

Arizona

Arizona Program Standards
The NTC facilitated a state task force and drafted a set of induction standards which are being used to guide the development of legislation.

California

California Department of Education and California Commission on Teacher Credentials
The NTC has played a major role in the shaping of the State's teacher and principal induction programs. The State's teaching standards and Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment Program were built on the pioneering work of the Santa Cruz New Teacher Project.

Hawai'i

Hawai'i Department of Education
NTC consultants worked collaboratively with the Hawai'i Department of Education on the development of induction models.

Idaho

Idaho Department of Education
NTC consultants are working with the Idaho Department of Education developing a pilot study to inform state legislation.

Illinois

Illinois Policy Task Force
Funded by the Joyce Foundation, NTC consultants are building an initiative to advance policy on teacher induction. 

Illinois Department of Education
The NTC has worked with the State's Wallace-funded leadership initiative to help craft legislation to support the development of statewide principal induction programs.

Illinois IKAN
NTC consultants assisted with the creation of a continuum of teacher development for the state of Illinois.

New Jersey

New Jersey Department of Education
NTC policy consultants are working with the New Jersey Department of Education to develop Presentations focusing on teacher induction.

Ohio

Ohio Department of Education
NTC policy consultants facilitated a state-wide task force to develop the Ohio State Teaching Standards.

Utah

Utah Department of Education
NTC policy consultants assisted the Utah Department of Education in the design of Utah's Continuum of Professional Teacher Standards.

Virginia

Virginia Department of Education
NTC policy consultants worked with a Virginia Task Force to develop induction program standards for programs in hard-to-staff schools. NTC presents regularly at DOE Induction Institutes, and our induction model is one of three approved models for Virginia Teacher Induction programs.
